****April 18 2007****: Add support for GRT4 and VF48 digital modules into the standard data acquisition program.
***Data Acquisition program is now MIDASExecV2***. This will require change to VME system startup script.
GUI session required is still GRT4 or VF48 if you require to use support for these.
When using the GRT4 (or VF48) with a SAC all supported VME ADCs and TDCs + generic VME data sources and 2D histogramming are available.
Sept 14 07: Add support for Mesytec MDI2/MTM16 modules (MVME5500/Linux).
Sept 24 07: Update support for TIARA.
Nov 6 07: Update support for Lyrtech hardware (Windows). Add PorgamRays application for Virtex4 (PPC405 processor).
May 6 08: Include application for Gassiplex readout via MVME5500 (Prisma). This is an addition to the standard MIDAS acquisition package for the MVME5500.
July 7 08: Update to support Veto facility via SAC.

Data Acquisition software by component 
You should previously have downloaded and
installed the MIDAS core distribution. If you have not already done so you
should do that down.

MIDAS core distribution
Each MIDAS application is independent of
the platform on which MIDAS is running (unless specifically stated otherwise).
Each application will require a number of
components. Just select each of the components listed for the application and
download all in turn.
The download size quoted is for all the components. [Note that many
applications require two LynxOS_MCG components (LynxOS core release + MIDAS
additions) which together are 21 Mbytes]
The item LynxOS_Release is the currently supported release of LynxOS for the
Motorola MVME2400 series processor boards. NOTE - You need a license from LynuxWorks to
use this software. Do not download the files unless you have the appropiate
license.
The item TimeSysLinux is the currently supported release of Linux for the
Motorola MVME5500 series processor boards. NOTE - All software in this download is covered by the GPL and
is thus available without further
license.
Software for the Virtex 4 uses the Linux OS made available to the Open Source Community by MontaVista and Xilinx.

Ensure that the directory
MIDAS_base_xxxxxx is your current directory and then uncompress using gunzip
and run tar to unpack all program distribution files you have selected.
You will create directories within the
current directory.
